Students should be familiar with the AIX environment from a user perspective, including the use of common utilities and the vi editor.

Description

This course covers System Administration for the AIX operating system.  It teaches the basic skills needed by every system administrator to successfully install and manage an AIX system.  Students will be given ample time to develop these skills in a lab environment.

Goals/Objectives

·   Start and shutdown the system.

·   Use the System Management Interface Tool.

·   Create and manage user accounts.

·   Manage disk space and file systems.

·   Perform backups and restores.

·   Install and configure devices.

·   Set up and manage printers and print queues.
